Possible Causes
Shorted touchpad, Failed electronic oven control key input circuit, Contaminated keypad ribbon connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Shut off power at the breaker before removing the control panel.
- Power reset: Turn power off for 5 minutes, then restore. If F7 returns immediately, proceed to keypad isolation.
- Disconnect keypad: Remove the control panel and unplug the keypad ribbon from the EOC. Restore power briefly. If F7 disappears with the keypad disconnected, the keypad/control panel is defective and must be replaced.
- Clean connector: If the keypad tests borderline, gently clean the ribbon contacts with isopropyl alcohol and reinsert firmly.
- Replace EOC if needed: If F7 persists even with the keypad disconnected, replace the GE electronic oven control board.
