Possible Causes
Burned-out oven light bulb, Failed light socket, Faulty light switch or relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power or unplug the range before changing bulbs or sockets.
- Replace bulb: Remove the glass light cover inside the oven (usually twists off). Replace with the correct high-temperature appliance bulb specified by GE.
- Inspect socket: If a new bulb does not work, inspect the socket for corrosion or burn marks. Replace the oven light socket if damaged.
- Door switch check: On some models, the door switch controls the light. Test the switch for continuity when the door is opened. Replace if faulty.
- Control relay: If all components are good, the light relay on the control board may have failed; replace the EOC if necessary.
