Possible Causes
Tripped house breaker on one leg of 240V supply, Failed electronic oven control relay, Burned wiring at terminal block
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the range/oven breaker before inspecting wiring. 240V can be lethal.
- Check breakers: Verify the double-pole breaker is fully on. Reset by turning fully off then on.
- Test voltage: With a qualified person and proper meter, confirm 240V at the range receptacle or junction box. If only ~120V is present, contact an electrician.
- Inspect terminal block: For freestanding GE ranges, unplug and remove the rear cover to inspect the terminal block where the cord connects. Look for burned lugs or loose screws. Replace the terminal block and/or cord if damaged.
- Check control board output: If power supply is good, the EOC may not be sending power to the bake/broil relays. Replace the electronic oven control board if relays are not energizing.
