Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor, Jammed lock latch, Faulty door lock microswitch, Broken wiring between lock and PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. Ensure the oven is cool before attempting to release the lock.
Steps to check:
- Access the door lock assembly from the top front of the oven (remove top cover and front trim as needed).
- Inspect the lock mechanism for mechanical obstruction or misalignment. Gently move the latch to see if it is stuck.
- Check the lock motor and microswitch wiring for breaks or loose connectors.
- Test the lock microswitch with a multimeter for correct open/closed operation when the latch moves.
- If the motor does not run when a cleaning cycle is started (with power restored for testing), and wiring is intact, replace the door lock assembly.
- To release a stuck door temporarily, use the manual release lever (if provided) accessible from the top or through a service hole.
Warning: Never force the oven door open; you can shatter the glass or bend hinges.
