Possible Causes
Failed bottom heating element, Loose or burned wiring to lower element, Defective relay on main PCB, Thermal cut-out tripped in base area
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool.
Steps to check:
- Remove the oven from the cabinet and take off the rear panel to access the bottom heating element connections.
- Visually inspect the element for bulges, cracks, or burn marks. Check wiring and terminals for overheating.
- Disconnect the element and measure resistance with a multimeter. An open reading indicates a failed element.
- Locate any thermal cut-out (safety thermostat) mounted near the base. Test for continuity; if open and non-resettable, replace it.
- If the element and thermostat are good, but E5 persists, the main control board relay output may be faulty.
Warning: Do not bypass thermal cut-outs; they are critical safety devices.
