Possible Causes
Failed capacitive touch sensor board, cracked glass fascia, moisture ingress on control PCB, damaged ribbon cable to main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the mains before removing the control panel glass.
- Clean the panel: Wipe the glass control area with a soft, dry cloth. Remove any moisture or cleaning fluid residue that may interfere with capacitive sensing.
- Power reset: Leave the oven disconnected for 5–10 minutes to allow the control electronics to fully discharge, then reconnect and test.
- Inspect for cracks: Check the glass fascia for cracks near the touch areas. Cracks can disrupt the touch sensors and may require replacement of the glass/control assembly.
- Check internal connections: Remove the control panel and inspect the touch PCB and ribbon cable. Ensure all connectors are firmly seated and free of corrosion.
- Dry moisture: If there are signs of steam or condensation on the PCB, dry gently and improve door seal if necessary to prevent future ingress.
- Replace touch board: If specific keys or the entire panel remain unresponsive despite good connections, replace the touch control board with the correct Grundig part.
Warning: Do not spray cleaning liquids directly onto the control panel; apply to a cloth first.
