Possible Causes
Failed clock PCB, intermittent power supply to clock, internal memory fault, dry solder joints on timer board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before accessing the control panel.
- Check power stability: Ensure the oven's supply circuit is not shared with heavy loads that cause voltage dips. If lights dim when other appliances start, consider moving the oven to a dedicated circuit.
- Reset the clock: After a full power-off for several minutes, restore power and attempt to set the time following the user manual. Confirm that child lock is not active.
- Inspect timer board: Remove the control panel and visually inspect the clock/timer PCB for burnt components or bulging capacitors.
- Check connectors: Ensure all plugs to the timer module are secure. Reseat them to clear any oxidation.
- Replace timer module: If the clock continues to reset or cannot be set, replace the electronic timer/clock module with the correct Grundig spare part.
Note: On many Grundig ovens, the oven will not heat until the clock is correctly set.
