Possible Causes

Heating element shorted to earth, damaged wiring insulation touching chassis, moisture inside elements or connectors, faulty mains filter (EMI suppressor)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Disconnect the oven and verify insulation before further use.

  • Identify when it trips: Note whether the breaker trips immediately when turning on the oven, or only when a specific function (e.g., grill, fan) is selected. This helps isolate the faulty circuit.
  • Insulation test of elements: With the oven unplugged, disconnect each heating element and use a megohmmeter (insulation tester) between each element terminal and earth. Low resistance (below manufacturer spec, often <1 MΩ) indicates leakage; replace the element.
  • Inspect wiring: Check all heater and fan wiring for melted insulation or contact with sharp metal edges. Repair with high-temperature wire and proper routing.
  • Check mains filter: Inspect the EMI filter module near the mains entry for burn marks or cracking. Replace if damaged.
  • Dry moisture: If the oven was recently steam-cleaned or exposed to water, allow it to dry thoroughly (door open, 24–48 hours) and retest. Moisture inside elements can cause temporary leakage.

Warning: Earth leakage faults are a serious shock hazard. If you lack proper test equipment, contact a qualified technician.
