Possible Causes
Empty or incorrectly seated water tank, blocked steam nozzle, failed steam generator heater, faulty steam pump (if fitted)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the oven to cool and disconnect power before accessing any steam components.
- Check water tank: Ensure the water reservoir is filled to the correct level and properly seated in its compartment. Clean any scale or debris from the tank contacts.
- Clean steam outlets: Inspect the steam outlet inside the cavity for blockages from food or scale. Clean gently with a non-metallic brush.
- Descale system: If your Grundig model supports descaling, run a full descaling cycle using the recommended descaling agent according to the manual.
- Test steam heater: Access the steam generator (usually behind or below the cavity). Measure resistance of the steam heater; an open circuit indicates failure and requires replacement.
- Check pump (if present): Listen for pump operation when steam mode starts. If silent and no water movement, test the pump coil for continuity and replace if faulty.
Warning: Steam systems operate at high temperature and pressure. Do not open any pressurized components while hot.
