Possible Causes
Tripped or failed thermal cut-out, open main heating element, faulty function selector switch (on knob models), broken live feed on main terminal block
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before removing any covers.
- Check supply: Verify that the oven is receiving power and that the correct phase/neutral connections are present at the terminal block.
- Inspect thermal cut-out: Locate the high-limit thermostat or thermal fuse on top or rear of the cavity. Test for continuity. If open and not resettable, replace it.
- Test selector switch (if fitted): On knob-controlled Grundig ovens, check the function selector switch for burnt contacts or broken shafts. Test continuity across the heating contacts in each mode.
- Check elements: Measure resistance of the main heating elements. Replace any that are open circuit.
Note: A tripped thermal cut-out often indicates previous overheating; ensure cooling fan and ventilation are adequate.
