Hansa oven shows E06 and the convection fan does not run in fan-assisted modes; uneven baking results.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and wait for the oven to cool.
- Check fan movement: Remove the oven's rear inner panel (inside the cavity) to access the convection fan blade. Try spinning the blade by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If stiff or seized, the motor is likely faulty.
- Listen for operation: In a fan-assisted mode, the fan should start shortly after heating begins. If silent, suspect motor or control issues.
- Test the motor: From the rear of the oven, access the convection motor terminals. Disconnect the wires and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Replace the motor assembly if open or if it overheats and stops.
- Inspect wiring and connectors: Ensure the fan wiring harness is intact and firmly connected to the control board.
- Control board relay: If the motor tests good but never receives voltage in fan modes, the control board relay may be defective and the board will need replacement.
When to call a technician: Replacing a convection motor often requires removing the oven and disassembling panels; if this is beyond your comfort level, contact service.
