Possible Causes

Heating element shorted to chassis, Damaged insulation on wiring harness, Moisture inside elements or wiring after cleaning, Faulty mains filter (EMI filter) shorting

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Disconnect the oven from power and keep it off until the fault is found.

  • Check for moisture: If the issue started after steam cleaning or heavy spillage, leave the oven disconnected with the door open for 24 hours to dry. Do not use the oven until fully dry.
  • Inspect elements: Remove the rear panel and visually inspect all heating elements and their terminals for signs of arcing to the metal chassis. Replace any element with visible damage.
  • Insulation test (if equipment available): Use an insulation tester (megger) between each element terminal and chassis. Low resistance indicates leakage and the element should be replaced.
  • Check wiring harness: Look for pinched or melted wires touching the metal frame. Repair with high-temperature wire and proper insulation.
  • EMI filter: Inspect the mains filter module where the power cord enters the oven. If cracked or burnt, replace it.

When to call a technician: Earth leakage faults can be dangerous. If you lack proper test equipment or cannot identify the source, seek professional help.
