Hitachi oven displays 'door' or a door icon and refuses to start

Safety first: Turn off power if you need to adjust hinges or remove panels.

• Check closure: Close the door firmly and check if it sits flush with the cabinet. If it sags, the hinges may be worn.
• Inspect gasket: Ensure the door seal is not folded or obstructing closure.
• Test door switch: Listen for a click when closing the door. If no click is heard, the switch may not be actuated.
• Adjust latch/hinges: Tighten hinge screws and adjust the latch plate if possible so the door presses the switch fully.
• Replace door switch: If the switch does not change state when pressed manually (tested with a multimeter), replace the Hitachi door switch.
