Possible Causes

Shorted temperature sensor, Sensor wires shorted to chassis, Moisture inside sensor connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before inspection.

  • Visual inspection: Check the sensor probe inside the cavity for physical damage or signs of burning.
  • Check wiring for shorts: Access the rear of the oven and trace the sensor wires. Ensure they are not pinched against metal or melted onto the oven liner.
  • Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance. A very low reading (near 0 Ω) indicates a shorted sensor.
  • Dry connectors: If there are signs of moisture or steam ingress at the connector, dry thoroughly and reseat the connector.
  • Replace sensor: If the sensor is shorted, replace it with the specified Hitachi part. If wiring is damaged, repair or replace the harness section.
