Possible Causes
Failed convection fan motor, Jammed fan blade, Open winding in fan motor, Faulty fan relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and wait for the oven to cool before accessing the rear panel.
- Check fan operation: In convection mode, you should hear the fan running. If silent, the motor may be faulty.
- Inspect fan blade: Remove the rear interior cover (inside the cavity) to access the convection fan. Check for food debris or screws jamming the blade.
- Spin test: With power off, gently spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding.
- Electrical test: Access the rear of the oven and locate the convection fan motor terminals. Measure resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- Replace motor: If the motor is open or seized, replace the Hitachi convection fan motor assembly. Ensure the fan blade is correctly oriented and secured.
