Possible Causes

Open-circuit oven temperature sensor (NTC probe), Shorted oven temperature sensor, Damaged wiring harness between NTC and main PCB, Faulty main control board (power module)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch off the oven at the wall isolator and remove the plug or turn off the circuit breaker. Allow the oven to cool completely before working inside.

  • Power reset: Turn off power for 5–10 minutes, then restore power and test. If E01 returns immediately, continue below.
  • Check temperature sensor resistance:
    • Remove the rear panel of the oven cabinet (or inner back panel, depending on model).
    • Locate the oven temperature sensor (NTC) – usually a thin metal probe protruding into the cavity, secured with 1–2 screws and connected by two wires.
    • Disconnect the sensor plug and measure resistance with a multimeter at room temperature. Typical value is around 500–1100 Ω (check Hoover service data if available).
    • If the reading is open (OL) or near 0 Ω, the sensor is faulty and must be replaced.
  • Inspect wiring harness:
    • Trace the sensor wires back to the main control board.
    • Look for burnt, pinched, or broken wires and loose connectors.
    • Reseat the connector on the PCB and ensure good contact.
  • Replace the sensor if defective:
    • Remove the mounting screw(s) holding the NTC probe.
    • Pull the sensor gently into the cavity or out the rear, depending on design.
    • Install the new Hoover-compatible oven temperature sensor, route the wires as original, and secure with screws.
  • If sensor and wiring test OK: The main control board (power module) may have a failed sensor input circuit. Replacement of the PCB is more complex and is best done by a qualified technician.
