Hoover oven display shows E05 and the oven does not start or stops shortly after starting.

Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power. If the door is locked, do not force it; internal components can be damaged.

• Power reset: Leave the oven disconnected for 10–15 minutes, then reconnect. Sometimes the lock motor will reset and release the door.
• Check door closure:
  • Ensure the door closes fully and evenly on both sides.
  • Inspect the latch hook on the door and the catch on the cabinet for bending or damage.
• Access door lock assembly:
  • Remove the oven from the housing and take off the top/front trim as required.
  • Locate the door lock mechanism (usually at the top front of the cavity).
• Test lock components:
  • Check the lock motor or solenoid for continuity with a multimeter.
  • Operate the lock manually (if possible) and test the microswitch for proper open/closed operation.
  • Inspect wiring and connectors for heat damage or loose pins.
• Replace faulty parts:
  • If the motor/solenoid is open or seized, replace the complete door lock assembly.
  • If only the microswitch is defective and is replaceable separately, fit a Hoover-compatible switch.
• Calibration: After replacement, run a short cycle and confirm the door locks/unlocks correctly and E05 does not reappear. If the error persists, the main control board may be at fault and should be checked by a technician.
