Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between display PCB and main PCB, Faulty touch control panel, Moisture ingress into control fascia, Defective main control board communication circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from the mains before removing the control panel.

  • Power reset: Turn off power for 5–10 minutes, then restore. If E06 returns immediately, proceed.
  • Access control panel:
    • Remove the oven from the cabinet if necessary.
    • Unscrew and carefully remove the front control fascia.
    • Locate the ribbon cable(s) between the touch panel/display PCB and the main control board.
  • Inspect and reseat connectors:
    • Disconnect the ribbon cable, inspect for corrosion, burning, or cracked tracks.
    • Clean contacts gently with isopropyl alcohol if contaminated.
    • Reconnect firmly, ensuring the cable is fully seated and not twisted.
  • Check for moisture damage:
    • Look for signs of steam or liquid ingress behind the glass fascia.
    • If the touch panel membrane is bubbled or delaminated, it may need replacement.
  • Component replacement:
    • If reseating cables does not resolve the issue, replace the user interface PCB or complete control panel assembly with a Hoover-specified part.
    • If the problem persists even with a new UI, the main control board may be defective and should be replaced by a professional.
