Possible Causes
Open-circuit grill element, Overheated or tripped grill safety thermostat, Burnt wiring to grill element, Faulty grill relay on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power and allow it to cool.
- Access grill element:
- Open the oven door and remove any top shields to expose the grill element.
- On some models, the element is accessed from the rear panel.
- Visual and electrical checks:
- Inspect the grill element for visible breaks or bulges.
- Disconnect the element terminals and measure resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed element.
- Inspect wiring and terminals for heat damage and repair as needed.
- Check grill safety thermostat:
- Locate the thermostat associated with the grill (often on the top of the cavity).
- Test for continuity; reset if it has a manual reset button, or replace if open and non-resettable.
- Replace faulty parts:
- Fit a new Hoover-compatible grill element if defective.
- Replace any failed thermostat.
- If E11 persists: The grill relay or control circuit on the main PCB may be faulty and should be diagnosed and replaced by a technician.
