Possible Causes

Failed bottom heating element, Loose or burnt element terminals, Wiring harness damage to base element, Faulty control relay on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before removing panels or elements.

  • Access bottom element:
    • Remove the oven base panel inside the cavity (if removable) or access from the rear depending on model.
    • Locate the bottom heating element and its terminals.
  • Inspect and test:
    • Check for visible damage or distortion of the element.
    • Disconnect the wires and measure resistance; an open circuit means the element must be replaced.
    • Inspect wiring for overheating and repair as necessary.
  • Replace element if faulty:
    • Unscrew the mounting brackets and remove the element.
    • Install a new Hoover-compatible base element, ensuring correct routing of wires and secure mounting.
  • If element and wiring are OK: The bottom heat relay on the main PCB may be defective. Board replacement is recommended to be carried out by a professional.
