Hoover oven shows E17 and the child lock or key lock function may be stuck on.

Safety first: If you need to remove the control panel, disconnect the oven from mains power first.

• Attempt manual unlock:
  • Refer to the Hoover user manual for the specific key combination to toggle the child lock (often holding a specific key for several seconds).
  • Try this several times; if E17 remains, continue.
• Clean the control panel:
  • Wipe the glass or plastic fascia with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove grease and residue.
  • Dry thoroughly and test again.
• Power reset:
  • Turn off power at the mains for 10–15 minutes to reset the control electronics.
  • Restore power and test the lock function.
• Inspect UI PCB:
  • If the problem persists, remove the control fascia and inspect the user interface PCB for damage or corrosion.
  • Replace the UI PCB if any keys are permanently active or the board is damaged.
• If UI replacement does not help: The main control board firmware may be corrupted; replacement by a technician is recommended.
