Possible Causes
Shorted heating element, Damaged wiring touching chassis, Faulty mains filter, Moisture in elements or terminal block
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a breaker that trips immediately; isolate the oven and investigate. Work only with power off.
- Identify offending function:
- Note which selector position causes the trip (fan oven, grill, etc.).
- Inspect relevant element and wiring:
- Access the element associated with that function.
- Look for visible damage or wiring touching metal parts.
- Test element resistance to earth with a multimeter; any continuity to earth indicates leakage.
- Replace the element if leaking or shorted.
- Check mains terminal block and filter:
- Inspect for moisture, carbon tracking, or melted plastic.
- Replace the mains filter or terminal block if damaged.
- Drying:
- If the oven has been exposed to water or steam, leave it disconnected with the door open for 24–48 hours to dry, then retest.
