Oven display shows F06 and controls may be unresponsive or behave erratically.

Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power before removing the control panel.

Step-by-step checks:

• 1. Power reset: Turn off the oven at the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. Sometimes F06 is cleared by a full reset if caused by a transient glitch.
• 2. Remove control panel: Open the oven door and remove the screws securing the front control fascia. Carefully pull it forward to access the display and keypad boards.
• 3. Inspect ribbon cables: Check the flat ribbon cable(s) between the user interface and main control board. Reseat both ends, ensuring they are fully inserted and locked.
• 4. Check for moisture or corrosion: Look for signs of steam damage, corrosion on connectors, or liquid spills behind the glass. Dry gently with a lint-free cloth; do not use heat guns directly on electronics.
• 5. Test keypad response: After reassembly and restoring power, test each button. If some keys do not respond or F06 returns, the Hotpoint-Ariston touch control / user interface board is likely faulty and should be replaced.

Note: Avoid using aggressive cleaners on the control panel glass, as they can seep into the electronics and cause this fault.
