• 1. Check ventilation: Ensure the oven is installed with correct clearances as per the Hotpoint-Ariston manual. Make sure front and rear ventilation slots are not blocked by cabinetry or items.
• 2. Listen for cooling fan: During operation (before disconnecting), note whether you hear the tangential cooling fan running above or behind the cavity. If it never runs, suspect a fan or control issue.
• 3. Access cooling fan: Remove the top cover or rear panel (model dependent) to access the tangential cooling fan assembly. Inspect for dust buildup, seized bearings, or burnt wiring.
• 4. Test fan motor: With power off, disconnect the fan and measure resistance across the motor. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Spin the fan by hand; it should move freely.
• 5. Check safety thermostat: Locate the overheat thermostat (usually clipped to the top of the oven cavity). Test continuity with a multimeter. If it is open and non-resettable, it must be replaced.
• 6. Replace faulty components: Fit a genuine Hotpoint-Ariston cooling fan motor or overheat thermostat as required. Ensure wiring is correctly routed and insulated.
