Grill Element or Grill Circuit Failure
Grill function does not work, oven modes may still operate, error appears when grill is selected
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Open-circuit grill element, Burnt grill element terminals, Faulty grill relay on PCB, Selector switch contact failure (on knob-controlled models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before accessing the grill area or rear panel.
- Check grill element visually: Inspect the grill element at the top of the cavity for blisters, cracks, or burn marks.
- Test grill element continuity: Remove the rear panel to access the terminals. Disconnect the wires and measure resistance across the element. An open circuit means the element has failed.
- Inspect terminals: Look for heat-damaged spade connectors or loose crimps. Replace any burnt connectors and trim back damaged wire.
- Selector switch (if fitted): On mechanical models, test the grill contacts on the function selector switch for continuity when set to grill. Replace the selector switch if contacts are open.
- Control board: If the element and wiring are good but no voltage is supplied in grill mode, the grill relay on the PCB may be faulty, requiring board replacement.
