Hotpoint
Fan Oven Element Circuit Fault
Fan oven mode not heating, fan runs but no temperature rise, error appears in fan mode only

Possible Causes
Open-circuit fan oven element, Burnt fan element terminals, Broken wiring to fan element, Faulty fan element relay on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate the oven from mains and allow it to cool before removing the rear panel or inner back plate.
- Locate fan element: In fan ovens, the circular element is mounted behind the rear panel inside the cavity. Remove the inner panel to expose it.
- Inspect element: Look for visible breaks, bulges, or hot spots on the ring element.
- Test continuity: Access the terminals from the rear of the oven. Disconnect the wires and measure resistance across the element. An open reading indicates failure.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the element to the control board for heat damage or loose connectors. Repair as needed.
- Replace element: Fit a genuine Hotpoint fan oven element, ensuring the mounting screws are tight and the element does not touch the cavity walls.
- Control board check: If the element is good but never receives power in fan mode, suspect the fan element relay on the PCB and replace the board.
