Possible Causes
Failed lock motor stuck engaged, Jammed lock bolt, Faulty lock position switch not signalling unlock, Control board not sending unlock command
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power. The door glass can break if forced; avoid prying with tools.
- Allow cooling: If a pyrolytic cycle has just finished, wait until the oven is completely cool; some models keep the door locked until a safe temperature is reached.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for 10–15 minutes, then restore. Some locks will reset and release on power-up.
- Manual release: Remove the top cover and locate the door lock assembly. Many locks have a manual release lever that can be moved with a screwdriver to open the door.
- Inspect lock: Once the door is open and power off, examine the lock mechanism for broken parts or misalignment. Replace the complete lock assembly if damaged.
- Check wiring and board: Verify continuity of the lock wiring and that the control board outputs voltage to the lock motor during lock/unlock commands. Replace the board if it fails to drive a known-good lock.
