Possible Causes

Blocked ventilation, Failed cooling fan, Faulty cavity temperature sensor reading too high, Poor installation clearance around oven

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Allow the oven to cool and disconnect power before inspection.

  • Check installation: Ensure the oven has the clearances specified in the Hotpoint installation manual. Remove any obstructions from vents.
  • Verify cooling fan operation: See F05 for fan checks. The fan should run during and after cooking at higher temperatures.
  • Inspect vents and channels: Remove the top cover and check that air channels are not blocked by insulation or debris.
  • Check sensors and stats: Test the cavity temperature sensor and safety thermostats for correct operation (see F03 and F10). Replace any faulty components.
  • Re-test: After repairs, run the oven at 200–220°C and monitor for normal operation without shutdown.
