Possible Causes
Aged VFD or LED display, Failing display driver IC, Poor solder joints on display board, Low supply voltage to display
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains before removing the control panel.
- Inspect display board: Remove the fascia and examine the display PCB for cracked solder joints, especially on the display and connector pins.
- Reflow solder: If you are skilled with soldering, reflow dull or cracked joints.
- Check supply voltage: A technician can measure the low-voltage supply to the display. If low, the main PCB may be failing.
- Replace display module: If the display glass or VFD is faded or segments are missing, replace the display PCB or complete clock/timer module.
