Oven interior light stays on all the time, even when door is closed and oven off

Safety: Isolate power before accessing the switch area.

• Locate door switch: Usually found in the front frame of the oven, actuated by the door edge.
• Check actuation: Press the switch plunger by hand. It should click and move freely. If stuck, clean or replace the switch.
• Test continuity: With wires removed, test the switch with a multimeter. It should change state (open/closed) when pressed. Replace if it does not.
• Inspect door alignment: Ensure the door closes squarely and fully depresses the switch. Adjust hinges if necessary.
