Oven display shows F1 and beeps; oven may not respond to touch or buttons

Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power at the circuit breaker before removing any panels. Capacitors on the control board can retain charge; avoid touching bare circuitry.

• Power reset: Turn off the oven at the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. If F1 clears and does not return, it may have been a transient glitch.
• Check for moisture/grease: Inspect the front control panel for signs of liquid spills or steam damage. If recently cleaned, allow it to dry fully (several hours with door open) and test again.
• Inspect keypad ribbon cable: Remove the top/front trim to access the control module. Carefully disconnect and reconnect the flat ribbon cable from the touch panel to the electronic control board, ensuring it is fully seated and not damaged or corroded.
• Test keypad: If some buttons do not respond or F1 appears when pressing specific keys, the touch control panel is likely faulty and should be replaced as an assembly.
• Replace control board if needed: If the keypad tests good but F1 persists, replace the electronic control board (EOC) with the correct Ikea/Whirlpool-compatible part number for your model.
