Oven shows F2 and may shut off during or shortly after a cooking cycle; often occurs at high temperatures

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely before working inside the cavity or behind panels.

• Check for blocked vents: Ensure the oven's front and rear ventilation openings are not blocked by foil, pans, or cabinet trim. Built-in Ikea ovens require proper airflow around the cabinet cut-out.
• Inspect the temperature sensor: Locate the thin metal probe inside the oven cavity (usually on the rear wall). Check that it is firmly mounted and not bent or touching the wall. Remove the back panel (power off) and inspect the sensor wiring for damage or burns.
• Measure sensor resistance: Disconnect the sensor harness and measure resistance with a multimeter. Typical NTC sensors are ~1000–1100 Ω at 20°C. If reading is open, shorted, or far out of spec, replace the sensor.
• Check harness and connectors: Inspect the plug from the sensor to the control board for corrosion or loose pins. Reseat the connector.
• Control board evaluation: If the sensor tests good and wiring is intact, the electronic control board may be misreading temperature and should be replaced.

When to call a technician: If you cannot safely access the rear of the oven or do not have a multimeter, have a professional diagnose the sensor and control board.
