Possible Causes
Loose or damaged communication harness, Faulty user interface board, Faulty power control board, Power surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off the oven at the mains before removing any trims or panels.
- Reset power: Turn off the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power. Observe if F6 reappears immediately or only when trying to start a function.
- Check harness connections: Access the top/front of the oven and locate the low-voltage harness between the display/user interface and the main power board. Reseat all connectors firmly.
- Inspect harness for damage: Look for pinched, cut, or heat-damaged wires, especially near metal edges or where the harness passes close to the oven cavity.
- Isolate faulty board: If available, follow the service manual diagnostic to determine whether the UI or power board is not responding. In practice, if the display works but no functions start, the power board is suspect; if the display is erratic, the UI board may be at fault.
- Replace defective module: Replace the identified faulty board with the correct Ikea-compatible part.
Note: Communication faults can be intermittent; if the error recurs after reseating connectors, plan for board replacement.
