Possible Causes
Damaged touch membrane, Moisture ingress behind glass panel, Shorted keypad ribbon cable, Faulty user interface board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel glass or trim.
- Check for stuck keys: Gently press each touch area or button. If one area feels different or triggers F7 when touched, the keypad is likely damaged.
- Dry out moisture: If the error appeared after heavy cleaning or a spill, leave the oven powered off with the door open for several hours to allow moisture to evaporate.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and inspect the flat cable for cracks, corrosion, or burnt spots. Reseat both ends.
- Replace keypad/UI assembly: On many Ikea ovens, the glass and touch membrane are a single assembly. Replace the entire user interface panel if the membrane is faulty.
- Board replacement: If a new keypad does not resolve the issue, the user interface electronics may need replacement.
Warning: Do not spray cleaners directly onto the control panel; apply to a cloth first to prevent future keypad failures.
