Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air vents, Faulty fan triac/relay on control board, Temperature sensor near control overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool fully before accessing internal components.
- Check ventilation: Ensure the built-in cabinet cut-out meets Ikea installation clearances and that decorative panels do not block the top or front vents.
- Listen for fan operation: During use, you should hear the cooling fan running. If F8 appears and the fan is silent, suspect the fan motor or its supply.
- Inspect cooling fan: Access the top or rear of the oven to locate the tangential cooling fan. Check for obstructions (insulation, wiring) preventing the fan from turning.
- Test fan motor: With power disconnected, check fan motor resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. If comfortable and safe, you can also test for mains voltage at the fan during operation (qualified persons only).
- Replace faulty part: Replace the cooling fan motor if it does not run when powered. If the fan is good but never receives power, the control board's fan driver circuit may be defective and require board replacement.
Note: Continuous F8 errors can damage the control board; address cooling issues promptly.
