Oven heats on grill/broil but not on bake (bottom element cold)

Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool before accessing the element.

• Visual check: Inspect the bottom element for blisters, cracks, or burn marks.
• Test resistance: Disconnect the element and measure resistance. An open reading means the element is faulty and must be replaced.
• Inspect wiring: Check the wires and terminals at the element for burning or looseness. Repair or replace as needed.
• Control relay: If the element is good but never heats, the bake relay on the control board may be defective. Replace the board if necessary.

Tip: When replacing the bottom element, avoid damaging the cavity enamel and ensure the element sits in its supports.
