Possible Causes

Failed door lock motor, misaligned door lock mechanism, faulty door lock microswitch, damaged wiring to lock assembly

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power. The lock mechanism can move suddenly; keep fingers clear of moving parts.

Manual unlock (if door is stuck closed):

  • Remove the top panel to access the door lock assembly at the front top of the oven.
  • Locate the lock lever and gently move it to the unlock position using a flat screwdriver while pulling the door handle.

Component checks:

  • With power still off, disconnect the lock motor connector and test the motor coil for continuity. If open, replace the door lock assembly.
  • Test the lock position microswitches with a multimeter; they should change state (open/closed) when the lock lever is moved.
  • Inspect wiring from the lock to the main control board for damage or loose connectors.
  • If the motor and switches test good, the main control board may not be driving the lock correctly and may need replacement.

After repair: Reassemble, restore power, and test a short pyrolytic cycle start/stop to confirm proper locking and unlocking.
