Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. The convection fan is behind the rear cavity panel; edges can be sharp.
Fan inspection:
- Remove the oven shelves and rear internal panel to expose the convection fan and cover.
- Check for food debris or foil obstructing the fan blades; remove any obstructions.
- Spin the fan by hand; it should rotate freely. If stiff or grinding, the motor is likely failing and should be replaced.
- Access the rear of the oven and disconnect the fan motor wires. Test resistance across the motor terminals; an open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- If the motor tests good, check wiring continuity back to the main control board and inspect the fan relay for signs of burning.
Replacement: Remove the central fan nut (usually left-hand thread on some models—check direction) and mounting screws, swap the motor, and reassemble. Test fan-forced mode after restoring power.
