Possible Causes
Shorted temperature sensor, sensor not fully inserted into cavity, stuck heating relay on control board, failed thermostat (on analogue models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool.
Steps:
- Verify that the temperature sensor is properly mounted and protruding into the cavity; refit if loose or dislodged.
- Test the sensor resistance at room temperature; replace if reading is much lower than spec (indicating a short).
- If using a mechanical thermostat knob, check that the capillary bulb is correctly positioned and not kinked; replace the thermostat if the oven overheats regardless of setting.
- If a relay on the control board is welded closed (elements stay on even when the oven is off), replace the main control board.
