Possible Causes

Open circuit main oven heating element, Burnt wiring to heating element, Faulty oven thermostat or temperature sensor, Failed relay on main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the oven from the mains supply by switching off the circuit breaker or removing the fuse. Confirm power is off with a non-contact voltage tester before touching any wiring.

  • 1. Check heating element continuity: Remove the rear panel (or internal back cover, depending on model). Visually inspect the main oven element for blisters, cracks, or burn marks. Disconnect the element spade connectors and test with a multimeter on ohms; a healthy element typically reads between 20–60 Ω. If open circuit, replace the element.
  • 2. Inspect wiring and terminals: Check the wiring harness from the element to the terminal block and to the control board. Look for heat damage, loose spades, or melted insulation. Repair or replace damaged wires and ensure all terminals are tight.
  • 3. Test temperature sensor / thermostat: On electronic models, locate the NTC temperature probe inside the cavity (usually at the rear). Disconnect and measure resistance at room temperature (commonly 500–1100 Ω depending on model). If reading is open, shorted, or far from spec, replace the sensor. On mechanical-thermostat models, test continuity through the thermostat when set to a cooking temperature; replace if open.
  • 4. Check control board relay: If element and sensor test good, inspect the main PCB for burnt tracks or a stuck/burnt heater relay. If the relay does not click when heating is requested or shows signs of damage, the control board will usually need professional repair or replacement.

If you are not confident working with live or high-current circuits, contact a qualified appliance technician.
