Possible Causes
Disconnected or broken temperature sensor wiring, Failed NTC temperature probe, Corroded sensor connector at control board, Fault on main control board sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Isolate the oven from mains before removing the control panel or rear cover.
- 1. Inspect sensor and wiring: Locate the temperature sensor probe inside the oven cavity. From the rear, trace its wiring to the main control board. Check for broken insulation, pulled-out connectors, or signs of heat damage. Reseat any loose plugs.
- 2. Test sensor resistance: Disconnect the sensor from the harness and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare with Indesit service values (commonly around 500–1100 Ω). If reading is open circuit or near 0 Ω, replace the sensor.
- 3. Check continuity to control board: With the oven still isolated, test continuity from the sensor connector to the control board pins. Repair or replace any open or shorted wires.
- 4. Evaluate control board: If sensor and wiring are correct, the fault may be on the PCB input circuit. Inspect for burnt components or cracked solder joints. In most cases, the board will need professional repair or replacement.
After repair, clear the error by disconnecting power for a few minutes, then retest.
