Possible Causes
Open circuit grill element, Burnt or loose grill element connectors, Faulty function selector switch, Failed grill relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains before accessing the top or interior.
- 1. Inspect grill element: Remove the oven door and internal top shield if fitted. Visually inspect the grill element for cracks, sagging, or burn marks.
- 2. Test grill element: Disconnect the element terminals and measure resistance with a multimeter. An open circuit indicates a failed element; replace with the correct Indesit grill element.
- 3. Check wiring and selector switch: Trace the wiring from the grill element to the function selector switch or control board. Look for loose spade connectors or heat damage. On knob-controlled models, test the selector switch contacts for continuity in grill positions.
- 4. Control board relay: If the element and wiring are good, the grill relay on the PCB may have failed. Inspect for burnt contacts or tracks and replace the board if necessary.
Always ensure the replacement element matches the original rating and mounting style.
