Possible Causes
Seized or worn fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Open circuit fan motor winding, Faulty fan relay or selector switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Isolate the oven from mains before removing the rear panel or internal covers.
- 1. Check for obstruction: Remove shelves and the internal rear cover. Ensure no loose screws, foil, or debris are jamming the fan blades. Manually spin the fan; it should rotate freely.
- 2. Test fan motor: Access the fan motor from the rear of the oven. Disconnect the motor and measure resistance across the windings. An open circuit or very high resistance indicates a failed motor that must be replaced.
- 3. Inspect wiring and connectors: Check the harness from the motor to the control board or selector switch. Repair any damaged wires and ensure all connectors are tight.
- 4. Verify control output: With the oven reassembled and under safe test conditions (qualified person only), check that the fan receives mains voltage when a fan mode is selected. If not, suspect the relay or selector switch.
Do not operate the oven in fan modes with a non-functioning fan, as this can cause overheating.
