Indesit oven trips the household circuit breaker or RCD as soon as a heating function is selected.

Critical safety warning: Repeated tripping indicates a potentially dangerous fault. Disconnect the oven and do not repeatedly reset the breaker.

• 1. Identify which function trips: Try (once only) different functions (grill, fan oven, conventional) to see which causes the trip. This helps identify the suspect element.
• 2. Insulation test elements: With power off and oven pulled out, disconnect each heating element. Use a megohmmeter if available to test resistance between each element terminal and earth. Any low resistance indicates leakage; replace that element.
• 3. Inspect wiring: Check all wiring looms for chafing where they pass through metal panels. Repair or replace damaged wires and secure with clips.
• 4. Check mains filter: Inspect the mains interference filter (usually near the terminal block) for signs of burning or cracking. Replace if damaged.
