Possible Causes
Faulty or overly sensitive safety thermostat, Blocked cooling vents, Failed cooling fan, Poor installation causing overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Overheating can damage cabinets and wiring. Disconnect power before inspection.
- 1. Check installation clearances: Ensure the oven has the ventilation gaps specified in the Indesit installation manual. Remove any obstructions from vents.
- 2. Verify cooling fan operation: During a test (by a qualified person), the cooling fan should run when the oven heats. If not, see cooling fan fault procedures.
- 3. Inspect safety thermostat: Locate the overheat thermostat (usually on top of the oven cavity). Some are manual reset (small button in the centre). With power off and oven cooled, press to reset. If it trips repeatedly, investigate fan and airflow issues.
- 4. Replace faulty thermostat: If the thermostat trips at normal temperatures or shows inconsistent continuity, replace it with the correct Indesit safety thermostat.
