Possible Causes
Loose sensor connection, Intermittent temperature sensor, Failing mechanical thermostat contacts, Dry joints on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Isolate the oven from mains before accessing wiring or the control board.
- 1. Wiggle test on sensor wiring: With power off, inspect and gently move the sensor wiring and connectors. Reseat any loose plugs.
- 2. Check sensor resistance over time: Measure the sensor resistance at room temperature, then again after heating the oven and allowing it to cool. Large jumps or open circuits indicate a failing sensor.
- 3. Inspect thermostat (if fitted): On mechanical models, check for pitted or burnt contacts and excessive play in the shaft. Replace the thermostat if suspect.
- 4. Examine control board solder joints: Look for cracked or dull solder joints around relays and connectors. Reflow or replace the board if necessary.
