Possible Causes
Incorrect or incompatible temperature sensor, Open or shorted sensor harness, Faulty meat probe jack (if equipped), Control board sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power before testing sensors or wiring.
- Check for probe: If your Insignia oven has a meat probe feature, ensure the probe is fully inserted or completely removed as required by the selected mode. A partially inserted probe can trigger E1.
- Test oven sensor: Access the oven temperature sensor and measure resistance at room temperature (~1050–1100 Ω). Replace if out of range.
- Inspect probe jack: If equipped, inspect the meat probe jack inside the oven for corrosion or bent contacts. Clean or replace the meat probe jack assembly if damaged.
- Check harness: Verify continuity from the sensor/probe to the control board. Repair any broken or shorted wires.
- Control board: If all hardware checks good, the sensor input on the control board may be defective and the board will need replacement.
