Possible Causes

Open bake element, Open broil element, Failed relay on control board, Loose power connection to elements

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker. Heating elements operate at high voltage.

  • Visual inspection: Inspect the bake and broil elements inside the oven for visible breaks, blisters, or burn marks. Replace any damaged element.
  • Continuity test: With power off, disconnect the element terminals and measure resistance. A typical element reads 15–40 Ω. Infinite resistance indicates an open element that must be replaced.
  • Check terminal block: Inspect the rear power terminal block where the power cord connects. Look for burnt wires or loose screws that can interrupt power to the elements.
  • Control board relays: If elements test good, the bake or broil relay on the electronic oven control board may be faulty. Check for burnt spots near the relays and replace the board if necessary.
