Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, Stuck closed bake relay on control board, Miswired power connections, Failed high-limit thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power immediately if the oven is overheating or smoking.
- Test sensor: With power off, remove and measure the oven temperature sensor. Replace if resistance is significantly lower than spec or if shorted.
- Inspect control board: Remove the rear control panel cover and inspect the electronic oven control board for a stuck or welded bake relay (burn marks, melted plastic). Replace the board if damaged.
- Check wiring: Verify that the power cord is wired correctly to the terminal block (L1, L2, N). Incorrect wiring can cause abnormal heating.
- High-limit thermostat: Test the high-limit thermostat for continuity. If it has failed closed or open, replace it and address any airflow issues.
