Possible Causes

Open bake element, Open broil element, Tripped thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat, Failed electronic oven control relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker before testing elements or fuses.

  • Test bake element: Remove the rear panel or access from inside the cavity. Disconnect the bake element leads and measure resistance (typically 15–40 Ω). Replace if open.
  • Test broil element: Perform the same test on the broil element. Replace if open.
  • Check thermal fuse: Locate the thermal fuse / high-limit thermostat on the rear of the oven cavity. Test for continuity; if open, replace and investigate causes of overheating (blocked vents, failed cooling fan).
  • Control board: If all elements and fuses test good, the heating relays on the electronic oven control board may have failed and the board should be replaced.
